Back in 2002 a friend of mine at an Audi dealer  I was a vendor at had his personal car up on a lift attempting to brush paint his brake calipers. I volunteered to paint them with my equipment. They turned out well. So I thought this could be something. But understanding that brake calipers get really hot really fast and then cool down when you’re done driving I knew you couldn’t just throw any automotive paint on them. Because as the brakes heat up and cool off they expand and contract. So the paint needed to not only be heat resistant but it needed to expand and contract with the calipers. So I formulated my own Caliper paint that does just that.

Each coat from the primer to the clear coat has an additive that allows the cured finish to flex as needed so that the paint on the calipers doesn’t eventually crack and fail. There have been a lot of people who have come and gone over the years trying to paint calipers for a living. But they eventually move onto something else when their finishes begin to fail.
